Time Goverment Heard the Chorus on Epping Road Print E-mail

Epping RoadFollowing on from my speech (or rather song) in Parliament about the State Government's disastrous changes to Epping Road and the Lane Cove tunnel I have recently recorded a version of the Ballad of Epping Road with members of my band, The Tokens.

This is a very serious issue and one that countless residents of the Epping electorate have contacted me over. It is now time for this bushranger State Government to give us “our three lanes back”.

I’ll be continuing to pressure the Government on this issue in the hope that they will finally listen to the residents of North-West Sydney and restore traffic conditions to give people an alternative to traffic snarls and the Lane Cove Tunnel.

People speak to me on a daily basis about the heartache that the changes to Epping Road are causing them. More and more local families are finding increased congestion on our suburban streets because of these traffic changes and one resident was telling me that a trip that used to take them 15 minutes now takes 40. It’s obvious that these changes to traffic conditions haven’t been made in the best interests of local residents and haven’t eased traffic congestion in our local area.

It’s time for the State Labor Government to get serious about easing congestion on our local roads, and there’s no better way to show that commitment than by restoring three lanes of traffic on Epping Road.
